Chagrin River Capital Group is a private investment company that makes controlling investments in manufacturing and ancillary businesses in Northeast Ohio. We focus on profitable lower-middle market companies with revenues typically below $20 million. We strive to provide capital and operational expertise to our portfolio companies to help them achieve their full potential.

Alec Scovil

Founder and Managing Director

Alec founded Chagrin River Capital Group in 2023 after successfully managing the sale of his family's manufacturing business, Arrowhead Industries Corporation, to a European private equity firm.  Alec joined Arrowhead in 2012 as a Business Development Manager, climbing the ranks to Vice President in 2014 and President in 2015 before being promoted to CEO in 2020. During his time at Arrowhead, Alec has spearhead multiple operational initiatives, including identifying and implementing a new cloud based ERP system, launching manufacturing facilities in Mexico and China, achieving the automotive standard IATF 16949:2016 quality system certification, and identifying the Entrepreneurial Operating System (EOS®) as a key strategic tool for Arrowhead’s growth plans. Prior to joining Arrowhead, Alec spent several years as a high-net-worth financial advisor, for Citi Smith Barney and Wells Fargo Advisor, earning his CFP® amongst other accreditations during his time in the industry. Alec received his Bachelor’s degree from Rhodes College with a dual major in Economics and Business Administration, as well as his MBA from The Weatherhead School of Management at Case Western Reserve University.

Alex Scovil

Advisor

Alex serves a strategic advisor at Chagrin River Capital Group. He has owned and operated several manufacturing businesses during his distinguished career in manufacturing. Alex has a breadth of experience within the manufacturing landscape including the processing of metals, rubbers, and textiles, as well as time spent in the machining and specialty machine building industries. He bought his first business, Besten, in 1979 and sold his last business, Arrowhead Industries, in early 2023. Alex received his bachelor's degree from Yale University and his MBA from The Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania.
